The Biodiversity, Taxonomy, Phylogeny, Ecophysiology and Biotechnology of Algae research group strives to examine algae with a polyphasic approach that uses a combination that ranges from classical botanical methods to those of molecular biology, including cytomorphological, ecophysiological, biochemical, and genetic characters of algae, as well as their biotechnological applications.
